At first, I loved this thing. As far as an adapter, it works very well. Didn't have any issues on my trip to the EU. The trouble began when I started using it at home in the US as a charging station. For some reason, when you plug 2 USB C devices into the unit, it stops working. Neither device gets charged. The expected behavior is that each device would get 50W, but instead both devices just get nothing. When only 1 device is plugged in to USB C, it works fine.
I would say maybe I have a defective unit, but I have 2 of these, and they both have the same issue, so it's probably an issue with the design itself. USB C is supposed to "negotiate" power output, some devices do that better than others, so maybe it's some combination of smart/stupid USB C devices, but my regular charging bricks never have an issue handling any combination of USB C devices.
Also, the weight of the unit causes a gap between the unit and the plug, like it's hanging a bit out of the outlet. I don't love the idea of the terminals being exposed like that, even a little bit.?
That all being said, if you're just looking to only use it as a travel adapter, or only charge 1 device over USB C at a time, then this is a great option, but if you're like me and were hoping to be able to plug both your laptop and phone into this thing to charge simultaneously, then, look for a more dependable brand like Anker or something.
Also, I don't remember if I had this issue when using it in Europe, maybe on 220V it works fine? I only started noticing it recently when using it in the US.
